Give It To God

I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for he is right beside Me. Psalm 16:8 (NLT)
Isn't it comforting to know that God is always with us? This knowledge has certainly helped me the past few weeks as I have walked through a difficult situation.
A few years ago, something like this would have sent me into a frantic. I would have stressed, analyzed the problem from every angle, and planned a strategy.
But not this time.
This time, I shut myself in my office, put my worship music on, and cried out to God. I gave Him my worries, in exchange for His peace.
There have been a few times I've had to stop myself from trying to figure it all out. But I reminded myself to give it back to God. What can I say? I'm still a work in progress.
The church in Philippi encountered difficulties of their own. Their problems came from both their members and the Romans. Paul heard of their struggles, and he instructed them to give all their worries to God.
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7.
One thing to remember is that Paul wasn’t sitting at home, or in a church, or a local coffee shop while he wrote this letter of encouragement. He wrote these words from prison. He had reason to be anxious himself. But he knew from experience that calling out to God with a thankful heart was the answer to any anxiousness he might have felt.
You may wonder how you can be thankful when the world around you seems to be falling apart. It’s important to remember that we aren’t thankful for the problem. We’re thankful for the Answer, and His name is Jesus.
We need to cling to Jesus and His peace in every circumstance.
Like the church in Philippi, I’ve had to remind myself not to be anxious, be thankful, and make my requests known to God. Then, His peace guides my heart and my mind. This approach is so much better than my previous method of trying to figure it all out on my own.
Are you walking through difficult circumstances? Do you find yourself trying to figure it all out?
Let me encourage you to, give it to God.

These just keep getting better & better.
