When You Don’t Know What to Do, Trust God’s Voice

Some days I struggle with knowing what to write. What do people need or want to hear? Today is one of those days. This post is weeks past when I wanted it to be.
Statistics say I should be sending an email at least once a month. Once a week is preferable. I should be posting to my social media platforms daily or twice daily to increase my following. Market yourself! This will attract agents and publishers.
But what it's not me you need.
It's the One who has called me to represent Him, Jesus! He is the One you need. He is the One you need to hear about. It's not me or my ability to rise to the writing occasion. It's all about Jesus and how He equips me. He gives me the words you need to hear, the same words I need.
So, I will share with you what He's been saying to me lately.
LET IT GO!
I have faced many internal struggles in the last few months. Family situations, personal battles, spiritual battles. I feel the enemy has been working overtime to wear me down. But then I remember the One who's on my side and He's already won.
I just need to lean into Jesus and let Him fight for me, fight for my family, fight for my friends. Because "if God is for me, who can be against me?" (Romans 8:31, author's paraphrase)
I AM NOT THE HOLY SPIRIT!
Sometimes, only sometimes... in my zeal to be 'helpful' I can want my opinion to be heard. When in fact, it's not my opinion that needs to be heard. It's God's love that needs to be shown. His words they need to hear. We plant, God gives the increase. (2 Corinthians 3:6-7, author paraphrase)
GOD SEES ME!
This is a big one. I tend to feel invisible—a lot! Writers, by default, work in isolation. We live inside our heads. Pulling information from our brains and pouring it onto a blank page is a one man/woman job. There are silent conversations most people never hear nor read about. Should I write this? Does this make sense? Do they even care?
There is very little interaction with the reader. We LOVE feedback! Did you love it? Did you hate it? Did you read the entire article? Feedback is the only way for us to know our writing is connecting us the reader. So please, critique away. Let us know you see us!
But even without feedback, I know God sees me. He sees my struggles. He sees my joy. He sees my insecurities. He wants to be the One to guide me through, celebrate with me, and give me assurance that He created me and equips me for this purpose. He sees me, He knows when I sit down and when I get up. (Psalm 139:1-2, author paraphrase)
Maybe you're staring at a blank page right now. Trust God's voice. He will show you what to put on the pages of your life.

Amazing!!!
